The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.
The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.
That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
